Our Telescopes

SkyWatcher Dobson collapsible 10" 254/1200

Information on the device

The Skywatcher 10-inch (254 mm) Dobson is a reflector telescope featuring a simple and robust design, mounted on a manual alt-azimuth base without electronics, and is renowned for offering an excellent aperture-to-price ratio. Its large aperture gathers a tremendous amount of light, making it a powerful instrument for deep-sky observation—globular clusters, nebulae, and galaxies appear with remarkable brightness and sharpness, especially under dark skies like those in the desert. Unlike computerized GoTo mounts, observation here is done manually, which requires a bit more searching but provides a more authentic and educational approach to astronomy. Its construction makes it relatively lightweight for its size, although it remains somewhat bulky to transport. During our stargazing sessions, it offers participants a more immersive, hands-on observing experience to complement more automated instruments like the CPC 1100.

Celestron CPC Deluxe 1100

The Celestron CPC 1100 Deluxe is an 11-inch (280 mm) Schmidt-Cassegrain telescope mounted on a computerized GPS fork arm with automatic alignment and a database of over 40,000 celestial objects. Thanks to its large aperture, it offers exceptional brightness and resolution, making it particularly well-suited for deep-sky observation (nebulae, galaxies, star clusters) as well as planets, even from sites with mild light pollution. It is an imposing instrument (around 25 kg with the tripod), intended more for semi-stationary use rather than frequent field transport. During our stargazing sessions, it allows participants to discover finer, more detailed objects than those visible to the naked eye or through more modest instruments.

Nice to Meet You, I’m Naomi

I moved from Paris to Mitzpe Ramon in 2020 — and fell in love with the vast landscapes, the silence, and the indescribable beauty of the desert.

My work in the crater led me to lift my eyes to the sky, where I discovered an entire universe:
Open skies filled with stars, and a curiosity that turned into a deep love for astronomy.

Mitzpe Ramon is truly one of a kind —
A small desert town with exceptionally low light pollution, allowing rare and crystal-clear views of the night sky.
Here, you can truly see the stars.

Every August, thousands come to witness the Perseids meteor shower,
and throughout the year the sky constantly changes and surprises —
Constellations, celestial stories, and planets like Saturn and Jupiter, visible through our telescopes.

In my tours, I invite you to pause, look up,
and reconnect with the magic of the universe — the way only the desert can offer.
